An informational meeting will be held 9 a.m., Saturday, February 25 at the Fireside Family Restaurant to discuss "KEY INGREDIENTS," the next Smithsonian exhibit scheduled to come to Ellendale in May 2013.

We are in the process of getting organized and all are invited. We need committee members, docents, suggestions, ideas and people to just spread the word. If you support these kinds of activities, we encourage you to attend this meeting and let us know.

The 14th Annual Soup Kitchen at the Opera House is Sunday, Feb. 12, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ten different kinds of soups, plus home-baked breads, bars and beverage for $7. Kids 12 and under are $5. Soups are: chicken noodle, bean and ham, creamy knephla, bacon potato chowder, cheesy hamburger, Reuben chowder, green pepper soup, baked potato chowder, broccoli cheese, and this year's featured item “Jerry’s firehouse chili.”

The Ellendale Area Arts Council wants to thank all of the bidders for making this year's Christmas wreath silent auction a fantastic success. The arts council appreciates the financial donations, along with the time and talent contributed by area artists, that made the auction a success. Proceeds will help fund art programs in the area.
