Kendall’s images – a combination of photos colored and enhanced from his childhood memories – include familiar places and people from the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s. Sites include Mile Bridge, Pheasant Lake, Pheasant Lanes, Sam’s Drive-In, Redlin Implement, Keller’s Champlin Station, Merrick’s Five & Dime Store, the Nodak Hotel, the swimming pool, ice-skating rink and many more.

A 20-page hard-cover book of his artwork has been created to help raise funds for the Opera House renovation project. Copies are available at the gallery/lobby or by mail to anyone who donates $150 or more to the O.P.E.R.A. capital campaign.

Donations can be mailed directly to the Opera House at P.O. Box 334, Ellendale, ND 58436, or made online by visiting the Opera House web site at: www.ellendaleoperahouse.com.

Noted newspaper columnist Jane (Boekelheide) Ahlin wrote the book introduction that encourages readers to “ride around a bit with Kevin Kendall’s photographs. . . dragging Main from the college to the elevators of the old Ellendale Grain and Seed.”

The capital campaign for renovation of the historic Opera House is now nearly a third of the way toward its $560,000 Phase I goal.

O.P.E.R.A. is a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization so all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. All donors will be recognized by having their names listed on permanent plaques that will be displayed in the Opera House lobby.

Support the Opera House renovation and enjoy a drive down Main Street with Kevin’s artwork by viewing his exhibit and then making a contribution of $150 or more to the Opera House.

The Opera House will be open for viewing of the ‘Vision’ exhibit from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. each Thursday and Saturday in December (Dec. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and 28).
